The National Skydiving Museum Celebrates
"The Army Parachute Team - Golden Knights"
2014 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
October 9, 10, 11, 12, 2014 at Skydive Raeford, NC
In 1959, the Strategic Army Command Parachute Team, or STRAC, was formed. Over the last 55 years, the United States Parachute Team has won countless medals and trophies in National and Interenational competitions and have created hundreds of millions of positive impressions for the Army and for skydiving. Their contribution to skydiving's past, present and future will be celebrated at this year's National Skydiving Museum's Celebration Weekend.
Thursday evening we will start with an Early Bird Drop Zone Owners Reception at the Paraclete Wind Tunnel. During the reception, members of AntiGravity and XP8 indoor skydiving teams will display their amazing tunnel-flying techniques.
Friday and Saturday are the big days with action starting early Friday at the golf tournament hosted by the
Golden Knights Alumni Association. The Pope Valley Pioneers Lounge will be open all weekend for more
harrowing jump stories while the museum’s store will have skydiving memorabilia available for sale.
Throughout the weekend, there will be other activities including Pioneer Video Capture, the creative museum
exhibit, a scavenger hunt, fun jumps, 4-way scrambles meet and the ever-popular online auction.
Running concurrently – and connecting generations of skydivers – with all the fun activities, will be the exciting Sun Path Canopy Piloting Open competition – which actually begins Wednesday – where incredibly talented skydivers will dive their parachutes down and through a precision pylon course over the huge man-made pond for points and over $8,000 in prizes. The second annual event promises to dazzle the crowd
with spectacular swoops and breath-taking landings.
Friday we will have a special Pioneers Recognition Lunch sponsored by Strong Enterprise. See more info about the lunch.
And in the afternoon we will pay tribute to the Golden Knights with jumping, demos and jump stories about the glory days and toast to the many men and women who have made the jumps and proudly worn the patch. The Scrambles Meet will give you the chance to bid to jump with several former Golden Knights and Arizona Airspeed as your captain.
Saturday will honor the Hall of Fame Class of 2014 with a reception, dinner and the inductee ceremony. Join
the National Skydiving Museum to honor this distinguished group.

Everyone is invited...
Pioneers - Join your friends and other pioneers. A special area will be set aside for you to spend time with old friends to reminish with pictures and stories.
Teams - Get your team back together for a reunion and show your support for how far skydiving has come since those early years.
New to our sport - Come out and rub shoulders with pioneers who were jumping when equipment was military surplus and a high D license number was over 1000.
The 2014 Pioneers Reunion in February in Felicity was a BIG success. Read Cliff Davis' and Kim's article here...
In 2009, the Pioneers had a reunion in Raeford and over 250 people attended. Check out the 2009 Pioneers Reunion. It is bittersweet... So many are no longer with us...
